2025 Reunion Information

Dear Derouen Family Members:

The wait is over!  The 12th Triennial Eugene & Odelia Derouen Family Reunion will be held in Lafayette, LA.  Louisiana on Friday, July 4th thru Sunday, July 6th, 2025.

The Host Hotel is below and the Hotel Link is up and rooms are being booked. While the Hotel rooms are at discounted rate we cannot obtain the Venue at a reduced rate until a certain amount of rooms are booked. The reduced rates are available form Thursday July 3 -July 4, 2025. I believe our family will reserve the rooms and reduce our overall costs. Thank you in advance from all family members.

2.  Hotel Rooms are $129.00 Per Night plus Taxes. Rooms can be booked at this rate from Thursday 7/3/2025 to Sunday 7/6/2025. 

3. There are 11 handicap\accessible rooms on premises. Access to these rooms are open to the public and will go fast. Please book early. 

4. First floor consist of 5 Standard rooms (4 Kings, 1 Double Queen)

• Floors 2- 5 features 2 Accessible Rooms per Floor
• Floor 6 features 3 Accessible Rooms 

 
2025 will mark 36 years since the late Cleveland Derouen, the late Narcisse “Nopie” Calligan, the late Melvin Small and the late Richard Derouen formed the first Derouen Family Reunion Committee.  Not many families can say that their reunions have been ongoing for 

36 years.  The first Derouen Family Reunion Planning meeting was held on January 24, 1992 at the home of Melvin & the late Marjorie Small; and the first reunion was held on July 3, 1992 with over 1200 family members in attendance.

Certainly many of our family members have been called home since 1992 and there is no greater way to honor them than by coming together to remember them and strengthen our family bonds. Cousins, help us make the Derouen Family Reunion an even greater event this year. Our family’s legacy depends on all of us reaching out to every family member and encouraging them to attend the 2025 Derouen Family Reunion!
